Winter/Spring - Data Internship

Time period:  January - June 2018

Location: Bay area

Summary:  99 Antennas is seeking interns to support its work developing data-driven applications. 

Commitment: min. 10hrs/ week; duration 3-6 months

Compensation: Unpaid

Description: The ideal candidate will be thorough, diligent, highly detail-oriented, curious and motived by accuracy. A background in computer science preferred.  Interest in data analysis, data engineering, NLP and machine learning. For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to step into the growing field of data science.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities vary based on skills and interest. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to get hands-on experience developing data applications. You’ll be working with a small team of professionals based remotely. Hours are flexible. Two scheduled weekly check-ins are required.

This is an unpaid internship, but typically a great experience.

Requirements: Familiarity with some or all of the following data/application tools:

  • Python

  • Node.js

  • React/ReactNative

  • Data visualization (D3.js, ggplot, jQuery, etc.)

  • Geospatial mapping/shape files

  • HTML, CSS, javascript

  • Git/Github

U.S. citizens only, please.

Note: High school students living in San Francisco/Marin interested in learning about data science and application development are invited to apply. High school applicants must have strong knowledge of Google apps, spreadsheets and word processing applications. Some programming experience preferred.
